Amazing little netbook
Bought this netbook for some time for the class (college) and I love every moment I spent with her.Benefits:
Battery life, I get about 10 hours which is phenomenal … no other netbook has been closer with Asus EEE battery life with Super Hybrid Engine. (I use it mainly for surfing the web by typing text documents @ 87% right now, reading 9 hours and 45 minutes.)
Speed-loading, it takes only two hours or a little more to fully charge the netbook. It’s fast, in return for 10 hours!
-Keyboard, much smaller than standard desktops and laptops, is still quite large in general. If you are a very skilled typist this keyboard will be no problem for you. (I’m typing this review at full speed on this netbook.) While the SHIFT key to the right is smaller, it is not a major problem for me because I always use the left shift key which either the keyboard.
Performance, even if the specifications are nothing to get excited about, for ordinary use, it is surprisingly fast. Even on 1 GB of Ram. You must understand that netbooks are not notebook replacements. And it also means that you must use lighter, less resource-hogging software.
Screen-Matte, prevents glare and inside out. Most computers still have glossy screens that are virtually mirrors, but the netbook does not. It saves you from glare and reflections.
Matte-Shell still attracts the fat, but fingerprints are barely seen. A significant improvement to the previous EEE netbooks.
-Touchpad is a significant improvement in the old grid dotted Asus that used in previous models. Its sensitivity can be customized to your liking so for me it’s just as good as any laptop touchpad others. The click buttons right / left are not too steep so it is fair.
Speakers are surprisingly loud and the audio quality is decent.
Webcam-shutter is not really necessary but it’s a nice thing to have. If you are webcamming someone and want to do something very quickly, but in private (such as fixing a wedgie or change), you can simply slide the panel to “off”, then move it back to “ON “when finished. No need to disconnect or turn off your webcam.
AGAINST:
-Windows 7 Starter has its limitations, but can be changed with the condition “Windows Anytime Upgrade” which upgrades your Windows quickly.
-Webcam is only 0.3 megapixels. It is not clear, but you should not be constantly with the webcam on a netbook anyway.
-Comes with stickers touting the useless battery life and it’s other specs, but you can remove them if you want.
-There ‘s a lot of secondary shortcuts (Fn + F1, 2.3 … etc). They are handy to have, but they are not really explained … even in the manual. But you can find them quickly enough after the first or second use.
So overall, if you need to surf the web on the go and type of documents or even social networking (email, instant messaging, Skype / ooVoo, etc.) this netbook works quickly and life Perfectly . It the battery is only a reason to choose this over any other netbook on the market. Asus has perfected the art of netbooks and incorporated in the EEA 1015PED-p.
